About

Welcome to Free Woman, Create!

Free Woman, Create! is a Christ-rooted blog for women of faith. The purpose of this platform is to inspire women to live free and creative lives in Christ

The name Free Woman, Create! is not just a cute saying – it’s command. God created women to create! It is something we MUST do. And when we create, we should do it freely. Through this blog, women will learn that they are:

  1. Set free from the bondage of sin, fear, guilt, and stifling societal traditions by the Blood of Jesus. (Hebrews 9:14)
  2. Purposed and anointed to do the will of God. (1 John 2:27; Ephesians 2:10)
  3. Gifted. God has blessed women with the unique ability to give life even outside of the literal sense of childbearing. Whatever we create as free women should glorify God and be birth out of His promises. (Galatians 4:21-31; Matthew 5:16)
  4. Created to have a personal relationship with God. (Ephesians 2:18)

Meet Sharifa

My name is Sharifa Callender and I am the founder of Free Woman, Create!

Five years ago God placed the desire in my heart to write about Jesus. I journaled, but knew that what I was writing needed to be shared with others. I began sharing weekly devotionals on my arts and crafts blog, Sharifa Creates and even started a newsletter. Sharifa Creates could not contain everything God was pouring into me, so I decided to start a new blog – Free Woman, Create!

I have always had a special bond with women whether it’s through the relationships I have with my mother and sisters or the sisterhoods I’ve gained from childhood, college and ministry. Women are fearfully and wonderfully made, but face a unique set of challenges on this earth.

Because of this, I believe it is my purpose to support and uplift women especially in their walk with Christ. My hope is that Free Woman, Create! will be a blessing to your life.

Sign up for the Free Woman, Create! Newsletter. This monthly newsletter will provide additional resources for building your relationship with Christ. Expect receive devotionals, scripture reading calendars, and other creative content.
